Your chance to become a Young European Ambassador -- apply by 12 October
If you are aged 16 to 26 and from the EU, the UK or one of the six Eastern partner countries, applications are open for the "Young European Ambassadors" initiative, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. Deadline: 12 October 2026.
If you are aged between 16 and 26 and from one of the six Eastern partner countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova or Ukraine), the European Union or the United Kingdom, applications are now open to join the "Young European Ambassadors" initiative.
The new call has been launched by the "EU NEIGHBOURS east" programme and is aimed at dynamic, enthusiastic young people interested in EU affairs and their country's partnership with the EU. You will need a good level of English, be keen to contribute to the development and prosperity of your community and country, and be ready to dedicate enough time to civic engagement activities.
To apply, you need to be a citizen of one of the six Eastern partner countries, an EU Member State or the UK; be between 16 and 26 years old; have a good level of English; be interested in EU affairs and in public diplomacy and outreach; be motivated to contribute to your community and country; and be ready to volunteer your time.
Successful candidates will take part in online, dialogue-driven activities and represent the youth of their countries at home and abroad, exchanging experiences, discussing matters of direct concern to young people, sharing best practices and working together for a better future.
The deadline to apply is 12 October 2026. After the call closes, selected candidates are invited to an interview; those who pass are invited to special sessions and their profiles are sent for further approval. The process from the closing date to the final results takes approximately eight weeks.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative is a non-political, voluntary communication network connecting young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the EU Member States. Created by the EU in 2016, it has involved almost 3,000 young people so far, and there are currently almost 500 active YEAs of over 30 nationalities.
