Commission asks for views on advertising repositories under the Digital Services Act

The Commission launched a call for input on future technical guidelines for advertising repositories under the Digital Services Act, which make information about online ads public and easy to access. The call is open until 2 December 2026.

The European Commission today launched a call for input to gather views on future technical guidelines for advertising repositories under the Digital Services Act (DSA). These repositories make information about online adverts publicly available and easy to access. Once adopted, the guidelines will aim to ensure the effectiveness of the advertising repositories provided by very large online platforms and very large online search engines. The Commission is inviting a range of experts, including researchers, civil society organisations, journalists, providers of very large online platforms and search engines, and representatives of the advertising industry, to share their views. These will help shape the guidelines. Advertising repositories allow researchers, civil society, journalists and national authorities to detect risks linked to online advertising, including online scams, disinformation campaigns, deceptive commercial practices and the promotion of illegal products and services, among others. They also support effective supervision and enforcement of the DSA. The call for input is open until 2 December 2026.
