Commission releases EUR 157 million for Moldova to advance reforms under the Growth Plan

At the 10th EU-Moldova Association Council, the Commission transferred an additional EUR 157 million to Moldova -- the third tranche of the Growth Plan, following 18 completed reforms. The total made available so far reaches EUR 661 million.

Today, at the 10th EU-Moldova Association Council, the European Commission transferred an additional EUR 157 million to Moldova, reaffirming the EU's support for the country's reform path. This third tranche under the Growth Plan for Moldova follows the Commission's positive assessment that Moldova has successfully completed 18 growth plan reforms, covering all seven areas of the plan: private sector development, economic resilience, economic governance, social cohesion and labour markets, energy, the green transition and good governance. With this payment, the total amount made available to Moldova under the plan already reaches EUR 661 million. With this additional payment, Moldova continues to show determination and steady progress on its reform agenda, turning reforms into opportunities for people and businesses. The Commission continues to stand by Moldova in implementing the growth plan. The instrument has the capacity to support Moldova's economic growth and job creation by accelerating reforms and improving the country's access to the EU single market, thereby bringing Moldova closer to EU accession.
